‘INTERGALACTIC BEASTIE BOYS’ is a tribute to one of the greatest bands from my youth. I still remember seeing them live at Varsity arena in Toronto during the ‘Check Your Head’ tour. Anyhow, this one is obviously from the 'Intergalactic' video (from the 'Hello Nasty' album). RIP MCA.

By this time, this may have been my fifth or sixth skull. So I wanted to achieve this one with a different approach. The clouds with two moons, and ancient pyramids make up this skull. Must have been some sci-fi film I was watching which talked about ‘syzygy’. Pyramids are always a great match with moons and suns. Also yes these pyramids are more Giza, than the ones in Mexico. Apologies.

Siegfried & Roy was in the news at the time I think. I thought it would be interesting to illustrate a transformation (or the illusion of transformation) of a bunny into a roaring lion.

I found my subject after watching a 1973 Japanese film called ‘Lady Snowblood’, which stars Meiko Kaji. The film is based on a manga series, where ‘Yuki’ seeks vengeance upon the people who killed her family. Of course she has an awesome umbrella with a hidden blade in it. Yes, there’s a lot of blood (tomato sauce) in this movie. If you have seen Tarantino’s ‘Kill Bill’, you will notice a lot that is familiar. Anyways, if the story took Yuki to Mexico, she would definitely look like this.

Servir a la Gente = To Serve the People. From my research (about 10 documentary films, each very different from the last.), I saw that most of North Korea was covered with images of the late dictator everywhere. So I wanted to juxtapose 'tacos and sugar skulls' with that sort of image, but with a twist.
